These terms apply to Substage, a Mac app made by Joseph Humfrey / Selkie Design.
You can use Substage for your own work, subject to these terms and the license you purchased or received. Please use it lawfully. Do not abuse the built-in AI access, or use Substage to harm other people, systems, or services.
Substage turns natural language into Terminal commands. You should review commands before running them. You are responsible for the commands you choose to run and for keeping appropriate backups of your files.
AI can make mistakes. Substage is designed to help with small, understandable file and folder operations, not to replace your judgement or operate as a general autonomous agent.
Selkie Design does not collect personal analytics or track your usage of Substage. When you use Substage with built-in AI, your prompt and a small amount of context, such as selected file paths, may be sent to AI providers so they can generate a command. If you configure Substage to use local models, that work can stay on your Mac.
For more detail, see the Privacy and AI section.
Payments and subscriptions are handled by the checkout provider or platform you purchased through. You can manage a subscription from your original purchase email. If something has gone wrong, email me.
Substage may change over time. Built-in AI features also depend on third-party providers, models, and availability.
Substage, the Selkie Design website, and their original design, text, and assets belong to Selkie Design or Joseph Humfrey unless otherwise stated. You may not redistribute, resell, or reverse engineer Substage except where allowed by law.
Substage is provided as is, without guarantees that it will be error-free or suitable for every purpose. To the fullest extent allowed by law, Selkie Design is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of Substage.
